Sir Richard Branson gives insight to his 'resilient' business approach

Virgin Group Founder Sir Richard Branson opens up on the “tough” challenges his business faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and the “resilience” shown in new business ventures.

Sir Richard spoke with Sky News Australia host Ortenzia Borre about his new cruise ship initiative Virgin Voyages which was tested locally due to the billionaire’s expectation it will “resonate well” with Australians.

“We literally launched our first two ships the week Covid broke out,” he said.

“We had celebrated them coming out – going all the way to America and then we had to send them all the way back to Italy to mothball them and there they lay for nearly two years.

“So it was tough, it was expensive and that has made the last year all the more gratifying.

“We’ve been resilient and we’ve come bouncing back.”
