While the 1990s saw a number of headline-grabbing same-sex kisses across TV, they were often treated as one-off moments.
Willow and Tara, played by Alyson Hannigan and Amber Benson, were different. Their relationship was allowed to grow, evolve and exist as an integral part of the show’s story.
The couple went on to become one of the first long-running female same-sex relationships on a major TV series.
