Nancy Mace, who once claimed she supported gay rights, now appears to have changed her stance

Nancy Mace, who once claimed she supported gay rights, now appears to have changed her stance.

Mace, the congresswoman who spearheaded the US Capitol trans toilet ban, now seems to be training her sights on gay couples.

The hopeful South Carolina governor took to X on Tuesday (28 October) to post an archaic anti-gay slogan: “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve”, seemingly without context.

Her post comes less than a year after a trans X user told her she is “going to be against gay rights as soon as it becomes socially advantageous”. The comment was in response to her claiming “gay rights have nothing to do” with trans rights.

Writing in November 2024, she responded to the user, writing “Votes for gay marriage twice in fact”, referencing her two roll call votes in support of the Respect for Marriage Act.
