Snoop Dogg made a surprise appearance at Jackson State University on Tuesday, October 28, to join a discussion on HIV awareness and LGBTQ+ media representation.

The rapper participated in GLAAD’s "Generation Z and HIV: Human Issue. Southern Solution. An HBCU Tour", an initiative to engage Black communities in the South on HIV education and prevention.

Snoop Dogg joined Darian Aaron, GLAAD’s Director of Local News for the US South. Their conversation focused on the ongoing impact of HIV within the music industry and the importance of diverse LGBTQ+ representation in media.

Snoop previously said in a statement about partnering with GLAAD: “At the end of the day, it’s all about love — that’s what we’re teachin’ the kids with ‘Love Is Love’… Because spreading love and respect for everybody is what real gangstas do. We’re showin’ the next generation that kindness is cool, inclusion is powerful, and love always wins.”
