To use this velocity edit shortcut, you’ll need the CapCut video editing app. You can download it for free from the app store. Open CapCut and tap New Project. Then select the video you’d like to use, and tap Add. Now tap Add Audio. Tap Sounds. You can pick a sound from CapCut’s audio library, or sign in with TikTok to access sounds you’ve favourited there. For this example I’m choosing the track Get You from the Beats section of CapCut’s audio library. Tap the plus sign to add the sound to your video project. Now, select your video clip, and tap Style. Scroll over in the style menu and select Auto Velocity. CapCut will automatically generate your edited video with the velocity edit style. Tap the check mark to save this edit. Now, trim your audio so it lines up with the end of your video clip. When you’re ready to save your video, tap the Export icon in the top right corner. Once the export is complete, your video will be saved to your device’s camera roll. You can then upload your velocity video to TikTok, Instagram, or another platform of your choice.
That’s all it takes to do velocity edits automatically with CapCut.
