Homemade Apple Pie Bacon | How to Cure Your Own Bacon at Home

Ever wonder how to make and cure your own bacon at home? Chef Jed shows how to make delicious Apple Cinnamon Bacon at home using our Apple Pie rub, speed cure, salt and a little bit of time. Smoke and slice and your bacon is ready to fry up. We love this spiced bacon on BLTs, breakfast skillets or just enjoy as is.

Ingredients you'll need:
4 Lb Pork Belly
3/4 Apple Pie Cinnamon Spice Rub
1/2 Cup Kosher Salt
1 T Pink Cure

Curing Process:
1. Trim the pork belly slightly to even the structure if needed.
2. Combine the seasoning and salts and rub into the meat.
3. Place in a large ziplock bag and remove as much air as possible. Place in a tray and put in the fridge for 7 days. Flip the meat every day.
4. On day 7, remove from the bag and rinse off the excess rub. Place on a rack-lined tray and place back in the fridge. Allow to sit for 24 hours.

Smoking Process:
1. Preheat smoker to 200 deg F. Set the meat out for 1 hour at room temp before smoking.
2. Place in the smoker for 2-3 hours or until the internal temp reaches 155 degrees.
3. Allow to cool completely before slicing and frying.
