THE CROWN Season 6: William & Kate Actors Confirmed; FINAL Season Release Date & Plot Details
As you wait for The Crown Season 5, scheduled for November (pending the exact date), we have some exciting casting news for Season 6, which, by the way, will be the FINAL season. So, The Crown has finally found its Prince William and Kate Middleton after a long and extensive search. TWO actors will play young William in the final season: 16-year old Rufus Kampa will play William when he was 15, in the first episodes that cover the events after Princess Diana’s tragic death in August 1997. 21-year old Ed McVey will portray William as a young adult, covering how in 2001 he met and courted his future wife Kate during their studies at the University of St Andrews in Fife, Scotland. While both Rufus and Ed have performed on stage, The Crown will be their first professional screen project. On the contrary, 19-year old Meg Bellamy, chosen to portray young Kate, is a COMPLETE newcomer who just graduated from secondary school and can only count a performer at Legoland theme park as her acting experience. You would think she must have some high-ranked relatives in the movie industry to get such a huge role. Nope, she and Rufus Kampa got the roles after simply sending self-made audition tapes following a casting call on social media. Meanwhile, watch our previous The Crown video on Season 5 completely new cast, and another one on the show’s lead actors’ REAL-life partners and family lives: we will link it here and in the comments below.
