#1 Pro CUTTING TIP (For Faster Cuts!)

The key to fast, accurate cutting with power saws is starting the cut effectively. And one of the best, easiest ways to start your cut more effectively is to CREEP IT!

Creeping the cut means starting your cut just slightly to the waste side of the cut line. By making an initial notch, you can see how far off your line-up is. Then you can work your way towards the cutline until your blade is splitting it up the middle.

This works really well with both circular saws and jigsaws! (But, you can even do version of it with table saws and miter saws.)

Creeping the cut may slightly mar the board on the waste side. But a fresh starting cut will get rid of this. And on projects like framing and deck-building, such tiny scars may not even matter!
