How a Chicago advertising agency preyed on the anxieties of a young radio audience and exploited child star of the radio program that millions for its sponsor. Featuring Shirley Bell Cole (1920-1910) who played the title role in the radio version of "Little Orphan Annie", former child actor Jack Bivans (1925-2009), advertising executive Arthur Schultz, marketing expert Christie Nordhielm and Bill Ross, collector of radio premiums. Special keyboard music provided by Liz Zoller Cohen. This piece originally aired December 28, 2005 on WTTW's "Chicago Tonight" as part of the "Chicago Stories" series.
