75Hard Day 1 Versus Day 14 Progress

14 days sure doesn’t seem like a lot, but when you’re in 75Hard and completing your 7-daily tasks (some harder than others), you’re feeling EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of those tasks and checking them off EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

How’s 75Hard going? It’s going. We are getting ourselves into a routine. For me, the “diet” mentality and not wanting to snack all the time is the hardest thing (also the 2nd workout—more on that in a minute). I thought giving up alcohol was going to be the hardest part for me, but it turns out it’s the diet. I chose to diligently track and stick to macronutrients (with “no junk”), and I have found that it’s a lot harder than I expected. I really had to adjust my numbers (added in a LOT of extra cals) because my initial numbers were too low. But since, I’ve seen a big shift in satiety and satisfaction. I like tracking macros a lot… it makes food fun and kind of a puzzle that I get to control each day. HOWEVER… I want to snack ALL the time. I never realized how often I was snacking and the portions I was devouring without even thinking about it. Breaking that habit has been tough.

I hadn’t anticipated that the 2nd outdoor workout would be hard, but I’ve been finding that I’m kind of sluggishly making my way through it each day. I feel like I kick some serious ASS during my first workout of the day at the gym I go to, so finding the energy for that 2nd workout takes some willpower! It’s not the workout itself (or for me, a walk), it’s doing it for 45-minutes. That’s a long time! I usually do it midday during lunch so at least I’m breaking up the day a bit. Waiting until the evenings is painful with the kiddos at home, so this is one part of the challenge that’s truly a CHALLENGE for me.

14 days down, 61 to go. The physical progress is a tiny bonus in this mental resiliency challenge. I’m excited to see where my mindset, muscle mass, and motivation are at in the end. Needless to say, I’m fired up 🔥, and every single day is a new chance to do it all again! 8.5-weeks left!
