A: Has your daughter ever had any bullying issues in school?

B: No. Not that I know of. Although, I think she may have bullied another kid one time. Why?

A: I think Tiger is having some problems with some of his classmates.

B: Tiger? Is that your son’s name? No wonder he’s bullied.

A: No. His name is Trevor. Tiger is just a name I’ve been calling him since he was a baby.

B: Oh. Did they hurt him or something?

A: I don’t know. I mean, kids come home with cuts and bruises all the time, right?

B: I guess. As long as there isn’t a pattern.

A: Right. So I thought nothing of it at first. Even when he came home one day with a bruised lip, I just chalked it up to him being a boy with other boys. You know what it’s like growing up.

B: Sure. Kids get into fights. No big deal. That’s how they learn to socialize.

A: Exactly. And it’s not like I didn’t ask him about it. He said things got a little aggressive on the basketball court and that it wasn’t a big deal.
So, Bridget and I, we just shrugged it off.
