B: Hey. How was your trip?
A: The trip was OK, but you’re not going to believe this. My house was robbed while I was gone. (Someone broke into my house while i was gone.)
B: Seriously?! You’re joking right?
A: I wish I was. I just had a few police officers at(come by) my place. They left a moment ago.
They had the whole house searched and talked to some of my neighbors.
B: Oh my god! That’s crazy! Are you OK?
A: I don’t know. I’m still a little shaken up.
I’ve never had something like this happen to me before.
B: What did they take?
A: A laptop, a few pieces of jewelry and a very small amount of cash. I’m not too upset about those to be honest. But to have my place become a target and be violated like this (is what really bothers me….)
that’s what really bothers me.
B: Listen, why don’t you have me and Kyle (come) over to your place this weekend or tomorrow night even? We can just hang out and talk and eat and, you know, make your place feel like home again.
A: That’s actually a great idea.
B: Great. I’ll talk to Kyle.
