2012 TSX oil change, again

Approaching the 10k mile mark since the last oil change. I made a video on this car already. Working on making videos more streamlined and with better lighting.

Compare with my first video:

Note: This was done in 40-50°F weather on a car with a cold start, so the oil probably didn't drain as well as it usually does. The dipstick was a bit dirtier than usual when checking, but I don't think that's a problem. The car still accepted just under 4.5 quarts of full synthetic oil.

If you can set aside 30 minutes, then you can change your own oil. It probably takes you at least that long to drive into the dealership or express lube and wait for your car, then drive back home. Why not DIY and save yourself both time and money? Not to mention avoiding the up-sells, additional "problems" found, and the satisfaction of DIY!

It can be somewhat of an upfront investment because you'll need:
•A way to safely lift the car
•Basic tools like ratchet, 11/16" socket, oil filter wrench or similar, medium sized adjustable wrench, funnel, oil pan, shop towels/rags/paper towels

You probably own most tools already. Look around at garage sales/estate sales in your area to get them on the cheap. Look for them when you don't need them yet, and you'll be set!

A new XL oil filter and 5 quarts of full synthetic 0w20 oil costs me around $35 + tax and is on sale... pretty much all the time. If not this week, then shop the next week or the next retailer.
