Right Lateral Pelvic Tilt Correction (EASY 5-Step Guide) (NOT the opposite of the left!)
Right Lateral Pelvic Tilt Correction - Left Vs. Right
The lateral pelvic tilt is a postural impairment that can occur when asymmetrical movement patterns reduce our ability to move. The lateral pelvic tilt correction is not the same on the right and the left!
To fix a lateral pelvic tilt on the left, we use first the left hamstring exercise progression we discussed in our previous video. Later, we can utilize many of the same exercises, but the starting point is different.
When we look at fixing a lateral pelvic tilt on the right, we have to consider that we typically have restrictions on the front and back side of the body and often an orientation related issue to the right. Many times addressing the right side can actually correct a left or right pelvic tilt, however starting your exercise progression with activities that open the right side is typically the best bet.
The exception to the rule would be when you have an excessive straight leg raise (beyond 90 degrees) on the left, in which case doing corrective exercises on the left and right will be warranted.
In this video, we demonstrate a simple 5-step exercise progression that can be used to restore movement that is typically lost with a right lateral pelvic tilt.
