Northern Luzon Road Trip No. 9: Laoag - Vigan - San Fernando LU

Driving from Laoag City to Vigan then to San Fernando, La Union brings so much excitement and nostalgia. Being back to Laoag after 44 years, I had never thought how this place changed a lot. In 1979, it was not so crowded to say the least. To my surprise, the city roads were so busy early morning. Having a breakfast at Java restaurant was so pleasant due to its unique ambiance. Visiting the Malacanang of the North in Paoay was a plus to this trip. What makes this journey so special was a stopover at Hidden Garden restaurant in Vigan to meet and have lunch with our former schoolmate and ex-Mayor after 50 years. Last stop for the day was in San Fernando, La Union to visit old SVD friends. This trip is so significant as it provided us to revisit old familiar places which underwent transformation through the years and bonding witg former schoolmates and comrades.
