Cyndi Lauper and Rod Stewart participated in the "AIDS Project" in 1985 to raise funds to fight AIDS.
The event took place in Los Angeles, on September 19, 1985.
In addition to Rod and Cyndi, Eizabeth Taylor, Cher, Burt Reynolds, Sammy Davis Jr, Shirley MacLaine, among others, were present.
It was the beginning of the AIDS epidemic and there was no advanced treatment like today, many were suffering and dying from this disease.
The support and actions of enlightened artists, like those who were present at this event, were very important in spreading knowledge and support in such difficult times.
Cyndi and Rod sang "Time After Time" together.
In 1985 this wonderful song was already a huge success, reaching #1 on the Billboard charts and being nominated for a Grammy for song of the year, but it was relatively new and was beginning the journey to becoming the timeless classic it is today, perhaps that's why Rod needed a piece of paper with the song's lyrics to accompany Cyndi, but even so, it was a beautiful and moving performance.

O evento aconteceu em Los Angeles, em 19 de Setembro de 1985.
Além de Rod e Cyndi, estavam presentes Eizabeth Taylor, Cher, Burt Reynolds, Sammy Davis Jr, Shirley MacLaine, entre outros.
Era o início da epidemia da AIDS e não havia tratamento avançado como nos dias atuais, muitos estavam sofrendo e morrendo por conta dessa doença.
O apoio e ações de artistas iluminados, como os que estiveram presentes nesse evento, foi muito importante para espalhar conhecimento e apoio em momentos tão difíceis.
Cyndi e Rod cantaram juntos "Time After Time".
Em 1985 essa música maravilhosa já era um grande sucesso, tendo alcançado o 1º lugar na Billboard e sido indicada ao Grammy de música do ano, mas era relativamente nova e estava começando a jornada para se tornar o clássico atemporal que é hoje, talvez por isso Rod precisou de um papel com a letra da música para acompanhar Cyndi, mas, mesmo assim, foi uma belíssima e emocionante apresentação.
