Cyndi Lauper - I Don't Want To Be Your Friend (legendado em português)

Cyndi Lauper lançou seu 3º album em carreira solo em 1989, o maravilhoso "A Night To Remember", repleto de músicas incríveis que poderiam ter sido grandes hits, se tivessem sido devidamente divulgados pela gravadora, mas na época Cyndi estava em conflito com os executivos da gravadora e terminando um relacionamento de quase 10 anos com seu companheiro e também empresário David Wolff.
Com isso, muitas músicas que mereciam ter chegado ao topo das paradas ficaram escondidas do grande público.
Uma dessas músicas é a belíssima balada romântica "I Don't Want To Be Your Friend".
Essa obra de arte foi composta pela grande Diane Warren, que é uma das compositores mais respeitadas e de maior sucesso no mundo da música.

Em "I Don't Want To Be Your Friend", Diane escreveu sobre o fim de um relacionamento onde uma das partes ainda ama enquanto a outra já trata tudo com indiferença e só quer amizade, por isso a letra enfatiza que a pessoa que ainda ama não quer ser só amiga. Na parte em que ela diz "você trata isso com indiferença e é isso que está me matando", a interpretação emocionante da Cyndi chega a doer na alma.
