Tomorrow will mark the 79th anniversary of the start of the bloody Battle of Iwo Jima.

The Battle of Iwo Jima was one of the major battle in which the United States Marine Corps landed and eventually captured the Island after five weeks of intense fighting (February/March 1945). Iwo Jima comprised some of the fiercest and bloodiest combat of the Pacific during World War II. Many young marines paid the ultimate sacrifice.

James Hinds, 27th Regiment, 5th Marine Division Division took part in the Battle of Iwo Jima, he described the fight with incredible details like he just came off the battlefield. James lost many good friends on Iwo, he is describing with emotion how some of them were killed.

We should never forget.
