PEARL HARBOR MEMORIAL, USS ARIZONA - Oahu, Hawaii // 241

Today I visit the USS Arizona Pearl Harbor Memorial in Oahu, Hawaii. This is one of the top free things to do in Hawaii. It costs nothing and you get to see the Valor in the Pacific Monument, experience a walk-through visual of the attack, watch a short film narrating historical significance and events in the attack, AND take a boat tour through Pearl Harbor today to see the actual sunken USS Arizona battleship and other memorials.

It is a humbling experience. I left feeling proud of how much more I know about this devastating mark in the United States' history.

The USS Arizona memorial is built directly atop the sunken USS Arizona battleship, which acts as a resting place for over 1500 soldiers on duty that day. It's a solemn sight.

I recommend making time in your Honolulu, Oahu trip to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial. It's a great free thing to do in Hawaii, and --really-- how can you come to Oahu and not visit Pearl Harbor?
