[VEGAN RECIPE] IMO-MOCHI - Potato Cake Snack - Japanese Cooking - みたらし餡の芋餅レシピ

Imo-mochi is a local specialty of Hokkaido, where is a northern island in Japan, and becomes a popular snack in other regions. Imo-mochi means sticky potato cake. Ingredients are the only potato and potato flour(corn flour is avalaible). And, pour delicious sweet soy glaze on it.

This recipe is the most basic though there are lots of family recipes. You can make it into your own version if you want. For example, adding cheese inside of the cake or use butter instead of oil if you are not vegans. This is very simple but addictive.

◆ Ingredients for 2 servings:

2-3 potatoes (200g)
4 Tbsp potato starch / corn starch (60g)

- Sweet soy glaze
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp mirin
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp potato starch / corn starch
100ml water
