I first learned "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" back in my youth choir days. It would be many years before I would sing this song again. A few days before I recorded the version that's uploaded here on YouTube, I sang and played it for a funeral at a local church here in Honolulu. I was originally planning to sing "On Eagle's Wings" by Michael Joncas (a contemporary sacred song used frequently in funerals), but after much thought, I decided to use a different song, something that was more theologically aligned with the funeral rite.

This song touches my heart quite a lot, considering that we've collectively been experiencing a deadly pandemic worldwide for over two years now (as of this video upload). I pray for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic.
