The INCREDIBLE Execution Of Trees! - The AMAZING Tribute To The 9 Day Queen

One of the most shocking executions in History was the Tudor execution of Lady Jane Grey. Lady Jane was just a teenager when she made her way out of her prison in the Tower of London to Tower Green, where the executioner stood with his axe. Jane had been sentenced to death by Mary I, but she is remembered as, 'The 9 Day Queen.' Jane succeeded Edward VI as the monarch, but was then ousted by Mary I. She was deemed a traitor, however Jane never wished to become the Queen of England. However inside of Bradgate Park, which was where she raised as a child, the gardeners following Jane's execution took a remarkable step to commemorate the daughter of their master.

The gardeners of Bradgate House and Bradgate Park decided to behead all of the oak trees found within the 850 acre park to symbolise the beheading of Lady Jane Grey. They were greatly distressed by her execution, and they pollarded all of the oak trees, many that Jane as a young girl would have seen and also have played under as a child. Lady Jane Grey's execution inside the Tower of London saw the girl of around 16 killed in brutal fashion, and she's seen today as a victim of the manipulations of powerful men who sought to claim power for themselves. However the groundskeepers of Lady Jane's own childhood home in Leicestershire sought to carry out their own executions in tribute to Lady Jane Grey, The 9 Day Queen.
