Cyndi Lauper was a guest on the Patti LaBelle Show in 1985.
Patti was already a recognized great singer and Cyndi, despite having already dominated the pop rock universe with her excellent solo debut album "She's So Unusual", from 1983, which had 5 big hits and earned Cyndi several awards, among them: Grammy, American Music Awards, Video Music Awards, among others, in addition to having participated in the soundtrack of the film Goonies, singing the theme song which was another great success, and being one of the highlights of the anthem "We Are The World" , alongside other great artists such as Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Tina Turner, Lionel Richie, Bruce Springsteen, despite this extensive resume full of merits, Cyndi was just beginning her brilliant career.
Patti welcomed Cyndi with affection and respect and the two gave us one of the most perfect and moving performances in the history of television.
Cyndi and Patti developed a great friendship after this wonderful meeting. Patti was a bridesmaid and sang at Cyndi's wedding ceremony, as well as being godmother to Cyndi's son, Dex Lauper.

Cyndi e Patti desenvolveram uma grande amizade a partir desse encontro maravilhoso. Patti foi madrinha de casamento e cantou na cerimônia do casamento da Cyndi, além de ser madrinha do filho da Cyndi, Dex Lauper.
