During a recent trip to California I thought I'd come back a slightly different way and for the same price, change my routing up a little and come back via Salt Lake City. Now I love A330's so thought it was a good opportunity to get on one of Deltas for the same price as my direct flight back would've been from LAX with Virgin Atlantic. The flight was fairly busy, but by no means full and luckily for me I had the seat next to me empty which is always a bonus.
A nice on time departure, quick taxi down to RWY16R and off into the low winter sun we went. Apologies in advance for the brief loss of focus during the take off. The low sunlight and dirty window my camera did not like. I did manage to get it back after a few seconds, but still appreciate its annoying. Anyway a brisk departure and right hand turn almost immediately after take off. Climbing over the snowy landscape into the sunset. A little bit of turbulence during the first hour or so as we pass over the rockies. The service consisted of a hot meal served with drinks from the bar, all complimentary then about 90 minutes before landing an egg & cheese breakfast muffin and choice of drinks. A very grey dull morning in London. In fact we were fully configured for landing, flaps & gear down before we'd even come out of the low cloud coverage. Some cool views of other aircraft in the holding pattern though.
