EasyJet Airbus A320-214 - London Gatwick to Gran Canaria, Las Palmas

Onboard EasyJet for the second time in a week, this time not to or from Greece, but the other direction down to the Canaries. This was EZY6561 on May 7th 2023. A delayed start to the flight due to the inbound flight from Seville being delayed, due to ATC slot restrictions over France. Once on the move, departing from Gatwicks 26L straight out for a while before turning left towards the South Coast. Some stunning views of Portsmouth and the Isle Of Wight as we climb in a south westerly direction. A little of cloud cover over the Bay of Biscay so not much of France or Northern Spain to see. But it cleared up nicely as we crossed into Portugal and over the top of Lisbon. Cystal clear views of the city, Lisbon Airport and the beautiful coastline. Just over an hour later we were on descent towards Las Palmas. A very gusty day down there. Fortunately not much in the way of a crosswind, more a direct headwind but still gusting over 30kts giving us some quite nasty windshear at times during the approach. There's a few moments you can hear people gasp & even scream during the approach as we experienced a few stomach turning moments of "weightlessness". But a perfectly executed touch down on RWY03L, much to the relief of many nervous flyers who didn't so much enjoy the turbulent approach like I did. Despite departing over an hour behind schedule, the strong tailwind and short flight time resulted in us landing just 20 minutes late.
