Seaweed cuisine: calorie-free, nutrient-rich and extremely healthy
Prannie Rhatigan is a doctor who has also made a name for herself by writing a seaweed cookbook. It is a bestseller in Ireland, and seaweed cuisine is gaining in popularity. It is healthy and cheap, full of iron, vitamins, calcium and magnesium.
Prannie shows how she and her family collect different species of seaweed from the shores of Ireland. Then she cooks some of her most popular recipes: scones, salads, crunchy seaweed crisps and even chocolate cake.
As a doctor, she knows about the health benefits of sea vegetables. They can help with many problems, from reducing inflammation to lowering blood pressure and cholesterol. Medicine even looks at seaweed from an anti-cancer point of view.
