Traditional Greek cheese: Nuns inspire an organic revolution
At an altitude of 1,000 metres, on Mount Ossa in Greece, lies a Christian Orthodox monastery inhabited exclusively by nuns. They come from many countries and have come together here to live a life in harmony and unison with nature.
Besides growing their own vegetables, the women raise sheep, chickens and cows, which provide them with milk, cheese and eggs. What they do not need themselves, they sell. Again and again, young volunteers come to the convent to try out the simple and modest life for themselves and to see how they cope with the abstinence.
Excerpt from the 360° GEO report: "The Sisters of the Earth".
