INCREDIBLE New Discovery: 9,000-Year-Old Unique Site Discovered in Jordan | Ancient Architects

On February 22nd, 2022, Jordan’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Nayef Hamidi Al-Fayez, held a press conference to announce an incredibly exciting unique, new discovery by a joint Jordanian-French team of archaeologists.

The site in question, located in the Al-Khashabiya Mountain region of Al-Jafr in South Eastern Badia, consists of a number of important and impressive archaeological discoveries, including a desert kite animal trap that dates back to 7,000 BC, and an associated camp, within which was a scale model of a Desert Kite – and that’s is just the tip of the iceberg. This site has so much more to offer.

The discovery dates back to culture known as the Ghassanian Culture, which is actually a culture of hunter-gatherers, whose way of life remained active throughout the Neolithic Period.

Many of the visuals used in this video come from a 'Facebook Live' video of the press conference so apologies for the low quality, but I really wanted to tell you all about this discovery.

It is a unique site, at present a one of a kind and finds include a collection of fossils, animal sculptures, unusual rocks, lithics, an altar and two stone pillars with human faces. Learn about this and so much more by watching the video.
