NEWS: 10,500-Year-Old Settlement Discovered in England 🤩

Archaeologists have discovered a hunter-gatherer settlement in North Yorkshire, England dating back to around 10,500 years ago.

Finds so far include butchered animal bones, tools, weapons and even rare evidence of prehistoric woodworking.

Back in the Mesolithic, the site was on the shore of an island in an ancient lake but as the lake dried up, thick deposits of peat buried the site over thousands of years. Because of the peat, the ancient finds have superb preservation, allowing organic finds like wood to survive.

Experts are now working to reconstruct the lives of these ancient Britons, people crafting objects in an environment where food was clearly in abundance.
