Kilauea Lava Flow July 10, 2010

The lava flow which broke out from the shields was well down to the base of Pulama Pali and only 1.5 miles from the ocean. This flow was tracking down the east side of the recent flow which had reached the ocean several months ago, but had stopped flowing when its supply was interrupted and was replaced by a new phase of shield building in the higher elevations.
