SNP minister slammed as 'shocking' for still not meeting experts at doomed neonatal unit

Labour's Mark Griffin slammed Jenni Minto for still not visiting the award-winning neonatal unit in Wishaw General hospital, that the SNP is 'downgrading'.

Mr Griffin's plea has come over a month since Jackie Baillie had urged the SNP minister to do the same thing, back in September.

The SNP are 'downgrading' or closing an award-winning neonatal service at University Hospital Wishaw.

They are doing this without speaking to or meeting the experts who run the neonatal unit.

Locals who wish the unit to stay have started a petition, that back in September had over 12,000 signatures

The SNP has previously defended the move, with Jenny Minto saying the proposal is a result of recommendations from expert clinicians.
