Tesla Has Designed Giga Berlin's Factory Plan

Tesla has submitted the new approval documents for Giga Berlin to the State Office for the Environment and has designed the new factory's plan.

According to RBB 24, which is Brandenburg's Public Radio, Tesla is planning a different factory design that will make better use of the space.

So currently what we have is this:
- New factory design planned.
- Water consumption reduced.
- Pile foundations planned for some parts of the factory.

Tesla has submitted new approval documents for its planned factory in Grünheide (Oder-Spree) to the state environmental agency this week. The state environment ministry announced on Wednesday.

In contrast to the documents submitted in December 2019, Tesla wants to support some parts of the foundation with underground piles. In addition, the factory should use less water than previously planned. Finally, the Californian company is also planning a different factory design that will make better use of the space.

The state environmental agency has not yet given final approval to the project in Grünheide. The approval can only be granted after the planned consultation date in September. But in the past few months, the authority has allowed individual construction steps as early measures. For example, Tesla was able to clear trees on the property and build those parts of the foundation that do not require underground piles. But the early measures are conditional: If the final approval is not forthcoming, Tesla must dismantle at its own expense.
