Howrah New Delhi Duronto Express Skipping Andal at 115 kmph!

The station of Andal between Durgapur and Asansol on the Howrah Asansol mainline can be referred to a station which throws punches much above its weight. The station still has little commercial relevance as most trains run non-stop in the 42 km between Asansol and Durgapur. Those that do prefer to do so at Raniganj instead of Andal. Even the Ranchi Shatabdi does that nowadays. However, Andal is a junction, with a branch line heading off towards Sainthia via Suri. The branch line is increasingly gaining in prominence as a number of trains from the South-Eastern Railways head towards the North-East Frontier Railways by reversing either at Andal or at Durgapur. Due to the adjoining coalfields and lack of space at Durgapur, Andal also has a massive yard, littered with freight trains. Top this with the Andal Diesel Locomotive Shed and you have a fairly large station with minor commercial traffic!
The 12273 Howrah New Delhi Duronto however has only disregard for such stations. The main lines run straight through Andal with a minimum interference from other tracks, allowing trains to crash through the station at high speeds. The Howrah WAP4 hauling the Duronto obliges and races through the station at approximately115 kmph. As we exit Andal and proceed towards Asansol, a pretty DEMU emerges from the greenery and enters Andal from the Sainthia side. Please note that I initially miscalculated the speed a bit and noted it as 108 kmph...I think 115 kmph is a more accurate estimate.
