Falaknuma Express Storms over the Rupnarayan River in West Bengal at 110 kmph!
The Rupnarayan River forms the boundary between Howrah and Midnapur districts in the state of West Bengal. By the time it reaches Mecheda, it is quite a large river, nearly 600 m in width, surging forth to merge into the Ganga, a little south-east of this point. In this video, the 12703 Howrah Secunderabad Falaknuma Express blasts over the Rupnarayan River at its maximum permissible speed of 110 kmph on a wintry morning. The video is embellished by photographs taken by me of the Rupnarayan River from a previous road trip to Kolaghat. Observed in one of the photos is the chimneys of the Kolaghat Thermal Power Plant.
