Seiko 5M23 watches: How to remove the stem and crown

Stem removal on the Seiko 5M23 movement (used in Seiko kinetic watches) in easy steps:

1. Open the back of the watch.
2. Unscrew the crown and pull it out to the first click. On the movement near the crown, you should now see a small lever with a dimple.
3. Use something with a fine point to push on the tab.
4. While pushing on the tab (not too hard), gently pull the stem out.

You don't need to push on the tab to replace the stem. Just push the stem in slowly, rotating it a bit if it gets stuck. Don't forget to screw down the crown!

Note this method also works on the Seiko 5M movements.
