Epilepsy - a defining debate

The 2014 ILAE practical definition of epilepsy has been subject to considerable debate. There are two significant issues - namely,
1. Switching Epilepsy from being a disorder to a disease. This is clearly a point, which whilst debatable, needs broad consensus to be reached and (in my view is societal in nature). What are your thoughts on how we should view Epilepsy? Take the poll above - should be interesting to see the results.
2. Whether one can make the diagnosis following a single seizure plus risk factors. Whilst there are advantages and disadvantages to any position taken - best available evidence certainly supports the ILAE's position and I go on to talk about the AAN and AES position following a first seizure.
