Pike Push Up Tutorial | Learning the Handstand Pushup

Today I’m here with a tutorial on Pike Pushups. Pike pushups are a fantastic exercise to build strong muscular shoulders and they also prepare us for more advanced work such as handstands and handstand pushups
Pike pushups are great as they can be adjusted to any skill level. Beginner all the way to advanced. The basics are what make you strong ! Even though I can do handstand pushups I always find myself coming back to this movement which yields great strength gains for me
Key Points to focus on
1. A full and complete range of motion. If you can’t go all the way down then you need to regress the movement
2. Breathing. Inhaling in through the nose. Exhaling out the mouth
3. KEEPING WEIGHT FORWARD. This is the most important. If you're pushing into the chest the whole purpose of the movement is defeated
4. Hollow Body. Keeping everything tight.
At 1;52 of the video I'd like to add that the reason the push becomes harder or easier is because more or less weight is placed on the shoulders

If you find yourself not able to get into the V position and keep the legs straight it’s caused by a lack of flexibility and mobility! Flexibility is strength and should be treated the same way as strength training so work on it and don’t neglect it !
