Making the EASIEST CHOCOLATE CAKE Recipe with CHOCOLATE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and I've been craving something decadent and chocolatey for the occasion! This chocolate cake is topped with a mouthwatering chocolate buttercream frosting uses only pantry staples and the simplest of ingredients to make. It also comes together so easily and I love how only cocoa powder is needed for the chocolate flavor.

Recipe Modifications:
- halved all ingredients to make a 1-layer cake (instead of 2-layer)
- used milk instead of half & half for the frosting
- used only 2/3 the amount of powdered sugar for the frosting
