The E-2D Hawkeye is Ready for Twenty First Century Warfare

The E-2D Hawkeye is Ready for Twenty First Century Warfare

At the height of the Cold War, on October 21, 1960, the US Navy launched the first Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft. Even now, decades later, and in the face of new challenges from throughout the globe, the massively improved Hawkeye keeps the United States safe. The job of the modern E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is to defend carrier fight groups. The most modern versions of the E-2D are outfitted with cutting-edge electronics, radar, command and control, and computer systems, making the aircraft nearly different from Cold War-era technologies.
