Bangkok is hit! Floods hit the capital of Thailand due to heavy rains.

Several areas of the Bangkok metropolitan region were flooded. Floods hit the provinces of Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan. The reason for the events was heavy rain. According to city officials, the highest rainfall was recorded in Bangna district at 145 mm.

The floods have caused severe traffic congestion on several key roads. The rains also toppled dozens of trees in different areas of the city. The first floors and basements of more than ten thousand buildings were filled with water. Flood waters interfered with normal movement of residents.

In the lowlands of highways the depth reached half a meter. Some cars broke down right on the road. Many local shops were also damaged by the floods. Fast food stalls were particularly hit. Electrical panels were damaged in several areas of the city. As a result, more than a hundred users were left without electricity.

Flooding of a couple of shopping centers was also reported due to leaking roofs. Local authorities immediately began to act to help resolve the flood.
