Meet Emily Leggitt. Emily is one of our Marine Creel Samplers working on the docks in Sitka, Alaska. If you’re returning to port in Sitka, please be sure to allow Emily or any of our other samplers to collect valuable data from your fishing trip.

In Sitka and many other ports across Southeast Alaska, samplers like Emily are collecting fisheries data from sport fish anglers. Data collection only takes a few minutes and what we learn from you and the fish you keep is valuable to research efforts and informs management in their efforts to maintain and protect Alaska’s fisheries. No matter what port you return to, if there is a sampler collecting data, please give us a few minutes of your time and do your part for sustainable fisheries management.
