Verstappen’s Sarcastic Response To Hamilton’s Insinuation

Lewis Hamilton has been involved in multiple championship fights while this is Max Verstappen’s first title challenge. Lewis Hamilton has suggested that the title fight is getting to Max who has now responded

The poll link for this video goes to an unrelated poll as I realised after uploading that this question is very similar to another recent poll. Here's the link to the replacement: https://www.youtube.com/post/Ugwnpx298XVyzXbcwsh4AaABCQ0:00 - Verstappen’s Sarcastic Response To Hamilton’s Suggestion

Verstappen’s Sarcastic Response To Hamilton’s Suggestion

Hamilton suggested that Max is getting nervous

“Obviously, he won’t admit to it and I’m not going to make an assumption but I’m just saying I remember what it was like when I had my first one and it definitely mounted up”

Max responded to this with sarcasm

“Yeah, I’m so nervous, I can hardly sleep. It’s so horrible to fight for a title. I really hate it. Yeah”

Max further expanded on his approach to the championship

“It doesn’t matter if you’re just leading a championship or not, those comments I mean it just shows you that he doesn’t really know me, which is fine, I don’t need to know him, how he is fully. I just focus on myself and I really enjoy it out there at the front and of course hopefully we can do it for a really long time”

He then responded to suggestions that he acted selfishly by not checking on Hamilton immediately after their crash in Monza

“Well, I mean there are a lot of hypocrites in the world that’s for sure. I mean I jumped out of the car, I looked to the left and he’s of course still trying to reverse, shaking the wheel, trying to get away under my car so I think he was absolutely fine”

He also pointed out how Lewis was able to attend the Met Gala soon after

“Also flying to America on Monday or Tuesday to attend a gala I think you only do that if you feel fine so I think already there, everything was all under control”

He signed off by responding to Hamilton’s comments that he could not find a single instance where Max backed out of a risky move

“I don't know. Keep looking I would say. I don't look back at this kind of thing either and I don't want to think about it too much. This season has been very interesting so far, so it's more fun to look forward and enjoy the year”

Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas has stated that “the only thing I will keep doing is try my best, try to win races, try to be as consistent as I can to bring the points”

“And [regarding] if I’m allowed? I don’t know really. You need to ask Toto. But for sure, it’s still a reasonable gap in the points”

Aston Martin’s Sebastian Vettel has stated that “obviously I love driving, because I love winning” [Motorsport]

“Next year a lot of things will change. I don't think there is one team today that can say they will definitely win in 2022”

“Only thing that gives me confidence at the moment is seeing where the team wants to go and the determination, they have to do that. Only time is going to give us the answer”

Stefano Bonaccini, President of Emilia-Romagna feels that “as a region, [they] have been successful for some time when it comes to bringing in sporting events of the highest calibre”

“And I hope that soon we will have a regular round in the Formula 1 World Championship at the Imola circuit”

“The idea is to have a permanent place on the calendar from 2022, for many years to come. It would be a historic and fantastic achievement”

Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz feels that “of course it's nice that [Alpine] and McLaren have won races, but we could have won in Monaco and we were very close at Silverstone” [Motorsport-Total]

“And I could have won at Monza last year as well. I don't feel like I'm far from that”

Red Bull’s Sergio Perez has suggested that “in Monza [they] were much closer than expected” [Soymotor]

“We've had a few bad races in a row. It's important that we put in a solid performance”, Perez added

Alfa Romeo’s Antonio Giovinazzi doesn’t “want to look at the past or the future, though. [He prefers] staying in the present and give it all here in Alfa” [Motorlat]
Will Alfa Romeo re-sign Antonio Giovinazzi?
