Dragging Down the Long Log

In my experience, shortcuts are often anything but short in time and effort.
After filling an order for alder boards with my Woodland Mills sawmill, I must have put that project completely out of mind, because while clearing computer clutter a few days ago, I realized that, though I'd finished the order, I hadn't finished the videos.
Dragging short logs out of the woods requires lots of trips up and down the mountain lugging rope and chain and the skidding cone. Logs had to be short to make a sharp turn in my skidding trail. The last log I needed to complete the order was too long for the trail, but if I took a shortcut...
