You need to STOP saying these words in your IELTS exam
There are a lot of videos online nowadays that claim to teach you words and phrases to increase your IELTS score. These are all absolute nonsense, of course. You cannot just learn a few special words to get a band 7 or 8. Instead, vocabulary is about accuracy and range.
A big problem that results from this situation is that people learn ridiculous words and phrases that they do not understand or which thousands of people use to the point that they become annoying cliches. When you cram these into your IELTS essays or speaking responses, the examiner will immediately know what you are trying to do. In other words, the approach you have taken to improve your score will in fact cause it to drop.
In this video, then, I'm going to show you a long list of words and phrases you need to either STOP using or use much more accurately. These include some really common words and so I'm sure almost every IELTS candidate could benefit from watching.
Whereas most teachers either say "do this" or "don't do that," I prefer to explain my reasoning and offer alternatives to the things I suggest dropping from your vocabulary. As such, this video will include reasons WHY certain words should not be used and suggestions for alternative words.
As always, this video is divided into chapters. You can jump back and forth to the relevant section if you need:
