How to protect your Rinnai tankless during power outage.

Your Rinnai tankless heater is a very efficient unit and it can get damaged during a storm.
SO OF THESE TIPS SHOULD ONLY BE DONE BY A TRAINED RINNAI TEC.
Loosing power we all do from time to time but during a large storm the power could be out for days.
Unplug or turnoff your tankless during power outages to prevent the electronics from being fried when the power is turned back on.
Using a generator. Have the generator running for at least a few minutes before you plug in the tankless heater. this will prevent the generator from frying the PC board when the unit is started.
No water from the hot side of the faucets after a power outage.
when a Rinnai heater looses power the water servo valve closes and with no power it prevents water from passing it. To fix this problem you will need to energize the unit in order to open the servo valve. this can be done with a generator, or a inverter.
This procedure should only be done when it a interior tankless heater with a factory supplied plug.
I hope this video was helpful.
