Liberal Party has ‘lost its bearings’

Former Liberal Party adviser Tom Switzer says the Liberal Party has “lost its bearings”.

“In an increasingly fragmented political environment it could lose votes on its right flanks,” he said.

“I think the Prime Minister should be aware of the great Margaret Thatcher’s dictum … standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous, because you get knocked down by traffic from both sides.

“That’s the real danger for Scott Morrison now.”
