Briefing: First-Ever UAE Astronaut Spacewalk - Bowen & Al Neyadi - U.S. EVA 86

Edited NASA TV footage of the briefing for U.S. EVA 86, conducted aboard the International Space Station (ISS) on April 30, 2023. Expedition 69 NASA astronaut Steve Bowen and United Arab Emirates (UAE) astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi (@Astro_Alneyadi) performed the spacewalk.

The first objective of the EVA was to complete cable routing and insulation installation on two mod kits, which will serve as the bases for the fifth and sixth new ISS Roll-Out Solar Array (IROSA). These arrays are to be launched on SpaceX's Cargo Dragon CRS-28 mission, and are planned for installation this summer.

The second task for this EVA was to remove a Radio Frequency Group (RFG) from External Stowage Platform 2 (ESP-2) and bring it inside the Station. This would allow the unit to be returned to Earth aboard the next Cargo Dragon, where it could be serviced and returned to the ISS. Unfortunately, one of the bolts securing the RFG to ESP-2 could not be released, and the astronauts had to bolt the unit fully back into place.
