Lush - Ladykillers (bass cover)

As my previous video a month ago was one of my wife's favourite songs, I'll follow that up with one of my own personal favourites. This #basslineteardown is a run through of Ladykillers from Lush's Lovelife album.

I'd never fully appreciated the bassline until properly listening to it while transcribing the song. Philip King's line follows the vocals beatifully, really laying the foundation for Miki's up-tempo lyrical delivery. I like the way that it's split into two halves with the first chorus being played and octave higher than the last one, which leads into the rousing end section.

Finally, here's Lush playing Ladykillers at the first show of their all-too-brief reunion, when I finally got to see my favourite band live. In fact, that's my head bobbing up and down in front of the photographer. What a night that was!
