New Order - Age Of Consent (bass cover on Yahama BBPH Peter Hook signature)

Around a year ago Yamaha released a limited run of Peter Hook signature BB basses and I was lucky enough to get one of the last available new in Europe. What better way to introduce it here than with Hooky's iconic bassline from Age Of Consent, taken from the Power, Corruption and Lies album. #basslineteardown #hooky #neworder

It's quite a demanding line to play for over 5 minutes, keeping up with Stephen Morris's frenetic drumming. Those high strings really cut into the fingers! Beneath the main riff there's also a bass drone which alternates between D and G each bar. I've included this part as a separate overdubbed track.
