"Tomorrow Is A Long Time" (Bob Dylan) cover by Dennis Anthonis.
Earlier this year, Susan Elizabeth Rotolo (known as Suze Rotolo) died after a long illness. She was 67. She was the girl who graced the cover of "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan" arm-in-arm with Bob Dylan. Suze was only 17 when she met Dylan in New York in 1961. She became the muse for three of his earlier works, "Boots of Spanish Leather," "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright," and this song, "Tomorrow Is A Long Time."
In 1962, Rotolo (a full-blooded Italian) went for a trip home to Italy, leaving Dylan alone and broken-hearted in New York. Although she returned to New York in late 1963, and a brief reunion ensued, Dylan's growing fame put an enormous strain on their relationship and they ultimately broke up in 1964. After I learned of Ms. Rotolo's death this year, I felt this was a good opportunity to post this wonderful song that Dylan wrote for her.
I returned to my original format, that is, one mic/one take. I have been experimenting with Garage Band and laying down extra tracks, and adding reverb and/or tremolo. Sometimes I would add art work in the form of photos and stuff in iMovie. But for this one, I wanted to get it posted 'au natural,' so to speak. The guitar is a Taylor GS Mini, tuned to standard tuning with the capo on the 3rd fret, putting the song in the key of B-flat.

"Tomorrow Is A Long Time" (Lyrics):
If today was just an endless highway
If tonight was just a crooked trail
If tomorrow wasn't such a long time
Then 'lonesome' would mean nothin' to you at all
Yes and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear her heart a-softly pounding
Yes and only if she was lying by me
Then I'd lie in my bed once again
I can't see my reflection in the morning
I can't speak the sounds that show no pain
I can't hear the echo of my footsteps
Or remember the sound of my own name
Yes and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear her heart a-softly pounding
Yes and only if she was lying by me
Then I'd lie in my bed once again
There's beauty in that silver, singing river
There's beauty in that sunrise in the sky
But none of these and nothing else can touch the beauty
That I remember in my true love's eyes
Yes and only if my own true love was waiting
If I could hear her heart a-softly pounding
Yes and only if she was lying by me
Then I'd lie in my bed once again
